As we celebrate and look forward to a new year, we need to reflect on the past and linger there for just a moment. Take a few moments to remember the good things that happened in 2018 and how those good things made you feel. Take a moment to remember the struggles from 2018 and think about the lessons you took away from those moments. Even during the hardest times, there is a lesson in everything we go through. What is one thing you did this year that you are the most proud of? Celebrate that feeling you just had when heard your voice describe your proudest moment!
Now let’s take a deep breath and begin to envision what the new year looks like. Let’s challenge ourselves to let go of what is not working for us. What’s one thing you can change in 2019 that will change the next chapter in your story? Don’t overwhelm yourself with so many things you want to change. Choose your top 3 things (i.e. work/school, money, relationship, self-image, friendships, etc.) Write down those 3 things, rate each of them on a scale from 1-10 (10 being the best) and then narrow down to your top 1 thing. Begin here, with that one thing and embrace it, hold it thoughtfully, clear the distractions of why you can’t do it as these are the Automatic Negative Thoughts that you must challenge or your mind and body will react to it. You must begin the journey of letting go of what you don’t want and begin to manifest what you do want. You are today where your thoughts brought you. You will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you!
