These two words Prove/Demonstrate changed my life.
Take away the word Prove (i.e. I have to prove myself at work, I have to prove I am worthy of someone's love, I have to prove I am a good mom/dad, I have to prove I am a good employee, I have to prove I am a good friend, etc.) and change that to demonstrate. You should never have to prove something to anyone but you can demonstrate your love for someone, you can demonstrate you are a good parent by your actions, you can demonstrate you are a good employee, you can demonstrate you are a good leader, you can demonstrate right/wrong to your children, you can demonstrate why you are a good friend.
This has been instrumental in changing how I interact with everyone in my life. I no longer have the need to prove, I just demonstrate! Give it a try and see how it can change your way of thinking.
